Halftime

Rolling Meadows 13, Fremd 7

Rolling Meadows senior quarterback Jack Milas started out hot against the Vikings.

The Ball State recruit completed his first eight passes to lead the Mustangs on a 16-play scoring drive to start the game. Milas was 9-of-10 for 58 yards on the drive, hitting Jacob Grant for a 5-yard touchdown pass.

Milas padded the lead to 13-0 with a 41-yard touchdown strike on the first play of the Mustangs' third drive. Rolling Meadows? defense has four sacks, has recovered a fumble and forced four punts. But the Vikings struck late in the half, when Sam Beutler hit Andrew Stark for a 30-yard touchdown with 13.2 seconds left before halftime.

Pregame

No. 2 Maine South (3-0) at Niles North (2-1)

Maine South will try to remain undefeated when it faces host Niles North in a nonconference game in Skokie.

The Hawks are on somewhat of a mini-roll, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter last week en route to a 35-7 win over Deerfield. Maine South is led by senior quarterback Matt Alviti, a Northwestern recruit who threw four touchdown passes and rushed for another against Deerfield.

The Vikings defeated Waukegan 17-14 last week, thanks to a 20-yard field goal by Amir Grabic with 4.7 seconds left in the game. Two weeks ago, Niles North lost to Niles West which, like Maine South, is unbeaten.

No. 4 Glenbard West (3-0, 1-0 West Suburban Silver) at No. 20 Hinsdale Central (3-0, 1-0)

The host Red Devils haven't beaten their West Suburban Silver Conference foes since 2006, but tonight's matchup appears to be their best shot.

Both teams are diverse on offense, with Hinsdale featuring QB Brian Owens (578 yards passing) and 6-foot-7 receiver Ian Bunting.

Glenbard West is paced by QB Henry Haeffner and RBs Scott Andrews and Joe Zito.

Defense may decide this one as the Red Devils will have their hands full. Ruben Dunbar and DB Hayden Carlson anchor a Hilltoppers defense that's one of the state's best.

No. 13 Homewood-Flossmoor (3-0. 1-0 Southwest Suburban Blue) at No. 7 Lincoln-Way East (3-0, 1-0)

Lincoln-Way East had to beat powerful Homewood-Flossmoor and Bolingbrook teams to go undefeated in Southwest Suburban Blue for the second consecutive season last fall.
