Today is an exciting day for the RAC, the Reform Movement and for social justice. The RAC is proud to announce a number of new key staff members and staff changes, including Rachel Laser as Deputy Director of the Center, the promotion of Barbara Weinstein (former Legislative Director) as Associate Director and Director of the Commission on Social Action and Isaac Nuell (former Conference Planner) as Manager of Congregational Social Action.
Additionally, the RAC is proud to announce three senior advisors at the Religious Action Center: Rabbi David Sandmel, Dr. Leonard Fein and Michael Horowitz.
Rabbi Saperstein, long-time Director of the RAC, said in introducing the new staff:
?With this team, we are ready to take our work to an even higher level. We really are at a crossroads on so many of the moral social issues the Jewish tradition has addressed for millennia.? If we are to be effective in fulfilling our mission to be a prophetic witness, we need to be more assertive wherever policy decisions are being made and more effective in supporting and mobilizing?the substantial social justice endeavors of our congregations.? This new staffing structure helps ensure that we move forward toward those goals.?
Read the whole statement, as well find as bios for the new staff, here and look out for more in depth introductions to these champions of social justice in the coming weeks.
